Face protection visors are intended to protect your face from hazards such as impacts from flying fragments, objects and particles, chemical splashes, heat sources and UV radiation exposure.

Visors are available in different materials, levels of thickness and size.

These levels should correspond with specific tasks.

Which Face Visor Should I Wear?

When selecting face protection, consideration should be given to hazards in the work environment and the use of other personal protective equipment. 

It is important that the protection offers a tight and proper fit so that no objects get around the edges of the visor. 

The visor should cover your face from at least the forehead to the base of the chin. 

Use the visor in combination with safety spectacles or safety glasses for additional protection.

Visor Materials

Polycarbonate provides impact and heat resistance. It is also used for arc flashes, high heat, chemical splash and radiation protection.

Acetate provides excellent resistance to chemical splash.

Mesh visors are generally used to protect the face from flying debris and large dust particles, typically in the landscaping and forestry industry.

Visors that provide protection against radiation (IR and UV) are made from special tinted and/or coated polycarbonate.

Some visors are treated with an anti-fog coating.
